Taste of Atlanta 2015 food event supports Rwandan farmers

Dove Magazine is giving a shout out to Atlanta’s Table & Main southern cuisine restaurant for supporting Rwandan farmers. We thank you!



Table & Main Thurs., Sept. 24 #FORTHEFARMER Campaign Table & Main and Osteria Mattone in conjunction with Kula Project will participate in the third annual #FORTHEFARMER campaign. Each restaurant will donate 20 percent of sales from the evening to be invested in coffee farmers in Rwanda. Social media-active diners can tag #FORTHEFARMER through Thursday for a chance to win a Kula Project bag filled Kula merchandise including artisan goods handmade in Rwanda. Details.

Wild Heaven Craft Beers Mon., Sept. 21, 7-11 p.m. Beers for Cheers Join the Actor’s Express family of artists at Wild Heaven Craft Beers for the happiest happy hours. Featuring brewery tours, beer tastings, live entertainment, a souvenir glass and an auction of one-of-a-kind experiences. All proceeds benefit Actor’s Express. Details.

The Cook’s Warehouse – Decatur Mon., Sept. 21, 7-9 p.m. Simple Abundance – Kevin Gillespie of Revival Chef Kevin Gillespie will host a Simple Abundance cooking class that highlights family-style Sunday suppers. The menu includes a local arugula, fig ad country ham salad; chicken fried steak with skillet gravy; and his famous Warm Banana Pudding. Event includes wine tastings and door prizes. All proceeds from the event benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Details.

Tipple + Rose Tea Parlor and Apothecary Wed., Sept. 23, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Mixer Mixer Guests are invited to enjoy complimentary lite bites and sip on specialty tea cocktails made with mixers from local companies, like PROOF and 18.21 Bitters. Doria Roberts will host a tea cocktail demo so guests can make their own cocktails at home. Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery Fri., Sept. 25, 6 p.m. Creative Loafing’s Best of ATL 2015 Block Party CL is taking over a section of South Broad Street to celebrate this year’s best artists, restaurants, musicians and more. Curated by the Goat Farm, peep art installations by Rebecca Makus, Mimi Hart Silver, Second Story, Shitty Bedford, and Ian Cone. Take in performances by Chris Childs Orchestra, Flamingo Shadow, Breathers, DJ Jelly, and more. Turner Field Sat., Sept. 26, 3-8 p.m. Great Atlanta Beer Fest The fifth annual Great Atlanta Beer Fest kicks off at Turner Field with more than 200 beers and ciders and over 30 wine options. There will also be live music, college football teams going head-to-head on giant TV screens, and plenty of games in Scouts Alley. Knock back a few tried-and-true favorites and check out what Atlanta’s newest breweries have to offer. Details.

Red Brick Brewing Sat., Sept. 26, 6-9 p.m. 22nd Anniversary Celebration Join Red Brick Brewing for their 22nd anniversary for Georgia’s oldest craft brewery. With admission you will receive a 22-ounce bottle of its 22nd Anniversary Double IPA and a souvenir glass while supplies last.
