Glen Johnson: Liverpool defender expecting to leave this summer

Glen Johnson is not expecting to stay at Liverpool beyond the end of the season, when his current deal expires.

The former England right-back has been in and out of Brendan Rodgers’ plans this season and he has been linked in several papers with a move to Premier League rivals West Ham.

Johnson started his career at Upton Park, making his debut in 2002, and went on to join Chelsea and Portsmouth before arriving at Liverpool in 2009 – he has since made over 200 appearances for the Reds.

He started the 1-0 defeat at Hull on Tuesday night and was questioned about his Anfield future afterwards.

When asked whether he was resigned to leaving, Johnson told Sky Sports: “I would have thought so – I haven’t got a contract.

“We’ll have to wait and see (if that is going to change).

“I don’t think so but we have to wait and see.”
